Academic Studies-

Studied with Robert Crane, Cliff Sproul (lead trp.with Les Brown).Walter Meyers-played with the New York Brass Quintet now the dean of music at Wichita State University.

1st.place in state-wide trumpet competition in Kansas for 1962-66 with classical solos such as the Haydn, Purcell, Barat,Handel.

Three years at Hays State Summer Music Camp studied with trp. player Jimmy Maxwell.

Two years at Manhattan All-State Music Camp studied with clar. player Buddy Defranco.

Wichita State University- 1967-69 Music Performance Program.

El-Dorado Butler County College-academic studies-Music, eventually instructor of Music.

Work History-----

1969-1971: formed and toured with national-renowned groups: Apostles, Red Dogs,

Flippers, Central Standard Time.

1971-1973: based in Los Angeles, toured with Horace Heidt Jr., Midwest Jazz Fest.-

played with Steve Denney Big Band. Turned down offers for auditions with Laurence Welk show and Bill Chase band. Backed acts such as Wayne Newton,Hal Frazier,Kris Kristofferson.

1973-1976: based in Quebec City and Montreal formed and toured with Man Made recorded and wrote for Andre Perry at Son Quebec in Montreal.

McGill Jazz Band with Jerry Donovitch. Television shows: Les Tennants, Bou Bou, Beaux Dimanches. Appeliez-moi Lise. recorded albums and performed with Diane Dufresne,Louise Forrestier, Offenbach,Harmonium and Beau Dommage.Played with Vick Vogal for the Olympics in Montreal.Backed shows such as Tony Bennett, Al Martino, Paul Anka, Cab Calloway,Joan Rivers,Cloud Dubois,
Ginette Reno, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Charles Aznavour and Michel Legrand.

1977-Recorded four albums and toured in Europe (twice) with Denny Christianson Big Band.

Taught at Yamaha clinics across Canada. Recorded with Pepper Adams. Performed for tour with Cats ,Phantom of the Opera and Beatlemania.

Solo trumpet for N.A.C.orch.on call for five years-(Ottawa)

Toured and recorded with the Duke Ellington Orchestra for five years-backing performers such as- DD

Bridgewater in Rome, Ella Fitzgerald 75th birthday tribute Carnegie Hall and

T.V.shows Michel Fenstade and Rosemary Clooney and John Pizzerelli at Club Soda

Performed at Place des Arts in Montreal,with artists such as Don Rickles, Shirley Maclain, and others.

Shows with groups such as Swing Dynamique and others at Montreal Jazz Festival .

Frequently touring with Motown Generation and René Simard

Currently featured at the House of Jazz in Montreal.
